HGH (Human Growth Hormone) the Ultimate Anti Aging Drug?

HGH

It is claimed by some that HGH is the ultimate in both anti-aging measures and even in the building up of muscle mass.

Let’s start at the beginning. Firstly, what is HGH? HGH stands for Human Growth Hormone and it a quite natural hormone produced by a gland in our brain. The hormone is produced in abundance when we are young and is one of the main contributors to helping us grow. Apart from this however it also promotes cell growth and regeneration, tissue repair, it helps stave off infection and disease and a whole host of other positive functions. In fact pretty much everything that takes place in our bodies when we are young can in some way be attributed to the hormone produced in our brains. It really is the ultimate hormone in our bodies!

Now we’ve mentioned that the hormone is produced in large quantities when we are young, but as we grow older the quantity begins to diminish. By our mid-thirties there is a much smaller amount produced and by our eighties there is virtually no HGH being produced in our bodies anymore. This explains of course as one of the main contributors to helping us grow, our biggest growth spurt takes place when we are young. Some scientists have looked into this, and there has been some research that has been carried out that has suggested that if the hormone were to be continued to be produced, our bodies would continue receiving the positive effects that we receive as youngsters, or in other words we would not age as quickly, we’d remain fitter and healthier for longer and ward off the tell tell signs of aging in general.

The main research linking HGH production and anti-aging was carried out in the early 1990’s. It seemed to suggest that those who were administered regular HGH supplement injections on a regular basis underwent both a decrease in fatty tissue and also the build up of lean body mass, ie muscle. There were side effects however of the injections such as complaints of pain in the joints of the body, and some doctors and scientists aren’t willing to accept the results as official as they say the test was not long enough and so a true long term picture of the effects of HGH supplements on the body was not achieved.

The tests however that have been carried out have led to a mass of products being available to buy. They all claim to be the genuine article and the ultimate HGH product whilst simultaneously rubbishing other types. There are generally two types of product. One form are simply HGH in a bottle basically and when sprayed or orally ingested boost levels in the body. The other type are a form of HGH releaser that are meant to simply encourage the body to produce more of the hormone in our bodies. This form is claimed to be the most natural method.

Despite the fact that it has not been scientifically proved that keeping the HGH levels in our bodies high in our lives is beneficial for any of the anti-aging or muscle enhancing properties, there are people willing to try. HGH supplements come in the form of sprays, pills or injections, although the injections are only available to buy at private clinics. This is certainly the ultimate HGH method and as such is a costly affair. The pills and sprays are much cheaper however.

Bodybuilders have also touted the benefits of HGH supplements over the years ever since there were reports linking it to the build up of muscle mass. They are not illegal and can be bought over the counter and therefore are popular with some. Unlike with anabolic steroids, there is no stigma attached but are supposedly meant to have similar effects on the body. Research will undoubtedly continue into this field with more and more information becoming available. At the moment, there is only one reason that a doctor would prescribe a course of HGH supplement and this is for when a person has a genuine deficiency in their body which is causing health and growth problems. In this instance it is a course of injections that are taken as they would by no means prescribe pills or sprays.
